Have you been entertaining the idea of therapy for some time, or might this be an impulse search for you today? Quoting Martin Luther King Jr., I believe that you do not have to see the whole staircase to take the first step. Whether you have been contemplating therapy for some time or this is the first time you looked it up, I believe it is important to take that first step towards understanding what nudges you towards seeking therapy. I offer an initial 50-minute "no obligation" consultation as an opportunity to "take the pressure off" and engage in an open and honest conversation about what brings you to therapy, understand how I might best support you in your journey, and answer any questions you might have. Do you find relationships (all kinds) challenging or perhaps often feel inexplicably angry or low? Is your anxiety easily triggered by a simple incoming thought or a "usually manageable" destabilising emotion/situation/life event? Do you experience feelings of being disconnected from those around you, possibly labelling yourself as "depressed", “stressed”, or “anxious”? Are you behaving inauthentically just to please someone else? Is childhood trauma or a previous toxic, abusive relationship affecting how you connect and engage with others? Maybe you have lost a child or a loved one, and the grief has become too much to manage alone. Are you worried about feeling a certain way or not living the life you were "meant" to live? Do your shoulders carry more than you bargained for, leaving you to feel too burdened to share with anyone? I am here for you. I'm Simona, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with adults. I am LGBTQ+ friendly and work with different issues, including abuse, anxiety, depression, post-natal depression, redundancy and unemployment, the struggles of job search and feelings of not belonging. I specialise in relationship dynamics (couples, friendships, family) and personality disorders that may include Borderline Personality Disorder (Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder), Narcissistic traits and Dissociative Identity Disorder. Whatever your needs are, I am here to support you: therapy with me will be a process of exploration, self-discovery, and growth. Together we will aim to rewrite potentially toxic or misconstrued life scripts - beliefs you have inherited from your family or society. I will support you in developing new skills and moving towards becoming your best self. Therapy was there for me when I felt confused about who I was, where I found myself and how I wanted my life to look. Moving around the world, I was "living my childhood dream", a rendition of it that felt less authentic and mildly fulfilling in my attempts to appropriate to the cultures and societies I entered. I worked in the roles I could certainly do, which brought financial stability but not distinct inner satisfaction. I experienced first-hand how important it is to have someone to listen and support you whilst you identify your challenges, bring them back and begin to accept them. Let's talk.
