Hello, I’m Lisa. I am a BACP accredited Counsellor with a BA (Hons) in Counselling. I recently qualified as a Mindfulness Coach and am an active member of the Creative Counsellors Community.
I work one-to-one with adults, young people, and children and also enjoy running Creative Mindfulness workshops and courses for groups. I describe myself as a Creative Therapeutic Counsellor because I love to work with resources such as Sandtray, art, writing, and visualisation. This way of working can be very powerful and healing when exploring emotional material such as childhood events, trauma, and relationships. Working creatively can support issues such as low self-esteem, lack of identity, and unconscious patterns of relating and behaving. The practice of Mindfulness and Breathwork can support issues such as anxiety, panic, and depression.
I have person-centred values at my core and will always be led by you. My way of working is an invitation to explore and play, whilst understanding that everyone has a different process so working in a way and at a pace that is comfortable for you, open-ended or short-term.
I love working with people and treat every individual story as sacred, including my own. I suffered a long period of illness which robbed me of a decade of my life, and counselling supported me through my despair, dependency, and depression, giving me the courage and creativity to overcome debilitating anxiety and to change my life, reinventing myself.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Carl Rogers
