Psychotherapist, registered with UKCP
Hello and welcome! I am Ghazala. My exposure to different settings provides a broad outlook and understanding for clients from diverse backgrounds. The stark contrast in social conditions and people’s perceptions of life helped me understand different thinking processes, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I see clients as unique and consider religion, age, sexuality, gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.
I am British/Pakistani and work in English, Pashto, Urdu, and Punjabi. Over the past five years, I have gained experience working in different institutions; recovery and rehabilitation, refugee services, global organisations, private and public. During my early years, I struggled to find my identity as I was immersed in Western and Eastern cultures. I sought help from friends and professionally. I learned to grasp what was important for me in my life and what gave it meaning despite cultural and traditional constraints. I learned to unravel my past script and created new ways to see the world from my eyes, whilst also holding lightly the others' viewpoints.
Life can become very challenging and overwhelming at times, with a constant burden of unanswered questions and trying to find a meaning and a purpose in life. I provide a non-judgemental supportive space for us to explore what brings you to psychotherapy. Together we will find a way to understand and move forward in life. My integrative framework is relational and based on humanistic, existential, person-centered, psychoanalytic, and transpersonal theories. I also look at attachment relationships and the impact of any trauma. I provide a 50-minute consultation session to understand your reasons for seeking psychotherapy, where you can also decide whether you would like to work with me. I work weekly, twice-weekly, or fortnightly depending upon your preference.
Години консультацій: weekdays early mornings, daytime, and evenings
